Paste your text and this tool will highlight any words that fall outside your chosen plain-English word list. Useful for writing for general audiences, non-native speakers, or anyone who needs to simplify their language.

Available word lists include Ogden's 850-word Basic English, the top 5,000 words from Wikipedia, and a custom list. Non-simple words can be marked in colour or linked to Wiktionary definitions.
